food in my tummy :)

I decided today I should keep track of all the good little places I eat. Who doesn't love talking about food? So Latin Thing...think chipotle, minus the national chain, mass-produced atmosphere. The place is tiny and cramped, but the concept is the same, pick an entree (bowl, burrito, sandwich, salad) pick a meat (had the carne caribena, which was beef with
caribbean spices and oregano) and pick your toppings (cheeses, pico, sauces, lettuce, etc.) the hot chipotle sauce is soooo good (but very spicy!)

also, I guess I just went here last Saturday so I might as well...

The pizza was what I would consider to be "authentic." their claim to fame is being the first certified pizzeria (1905). the pizza was made with fresh mozzarella (favorite!) and toppings were expensive, but spinach and panchetta were a nice choice! ($3 for the first topping, $5 for 2, $6 for 3, etc.) I wasn't a big fan of the crust, but other than that it was definitely satisfying!

After dinner, we walked around the San Genarro Festival and had our first Tartuffo Tre Scalini experience. Tartufo aka Italian Truffle. It was a big ball of chocolate ice cream blended with hazelnuts and cream blended with cherries all coated in a delectable dark chocolate shell. simply delicious and incredible.
